“Pozo con Viento” is an album showcasing five contemporary works for guitar, performed by Gustavo Servín. The pieces, composed by renowned artists such as Leonardo Coral, Lupino Caballero, Wilfrido Terrazas, and Carlos Ávila, explore diverse musical landscapes—from meditative states to complex sonic transformations. Servín masterfully navigates unconventional technical challenges, offering a fresh perspective on modern guitar music. This album is a significant contribution to contemporary music, presenting a young guitarist with much to offer to the art of the present day.
Not only are human beings known by their actions, but also by their sounds. Knowing the music of the present is a way of knowing the current state of humanity. Gustavo Servín presents, in this album, a clear example of the voices of our time. In this album, you can listen to the work of composers, all of them alive, each with a very personal style that can be clearly heard with each listening of the works. It is a fortunate contrast that depicts a very rich diversity of styles, techniques, processes, searches, affinities, experiences, expressions, etc. One could write a very broad list of the differences between the pieces and the composers included in this album, but above all, it is worth it to talk about the talent of a young, brilliant guitarist, such as Gustavo Servín.
